Cristin is a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania pursuing a M.S.Ed. in Education, Culture and Society. Her primary research interests include media representations of people in urban slums and settlements and functions of language in the creation of identity and the assertion of power. Cristin’s regional interests include North, Central and South America.

Ranya Bautista

Ranya is a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania pursuing a M.S.Ed in International Educational Development. Her primary focuses of study are emergency and peace education, rehabilitation and reintegration strategies of children and women in conflict, access and equity, and global human rights. Ranya’s regional interests are in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Sub Saharan Africa.

Shruti Bhat

Her primary focuses of study are international early childhood education, global human rights, access and equity of education, and peace education in conflict areas. Shruti’s regional interests include South Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.
